Friedenheim
Friedenheim on the Crocodile River in Mpumalanga Province, South Africa, is a small 2.5 MW hydro power plant. It was installed in 1987 and registered with RECSA in 2010. The site was chosen as there was an existing canal and penstock on the river, contributing to the lowering of the capital costs for the hydro station as well as avoiding any environmental impact.

Malalane Sugar Cane Mill, located in the Mpumalanga Province, was commissioned in 1967 and currently has a capacity of 1.8 million tons of cane per season. Due to its deep rural location, this mill is a crucial economic anchor for the local economy, sustaining whole communities as it provides primary and secondary employment.

AgriReNew Methane Digester
The family-run farm has produced locally-fed and processed beef for over 100 years. The manure from the farm is captured and transferred to two 950,000 gallon complete-mix anaerobic digesters where the methane is collected and used to run a 1 MW Caterpillar CHP generator to produce electricity.
