With 11 726 MW of installed capacity, Colombia has the third largest installed hydropower capacity in South America. Hydropower makes up over 70% of national installed energy capacity and electricity generation. By being at the forefront of clean energy systems, Colombia is advancing towards its target to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 51% compared to the baseline scenario.
