Net zero by 2050

Since the turn of the century, Taiwan has installed over 1 500 MW of wind capacity, which now produce over 3.5 GWh of renewable electricity annually. In more recent years, it has branched out into commercial-scale offshore wind farms; Formoso I, which boasts 128 MW of installed capacity, started generating electricity in 2019. A further offshore wind farm, Zhong Neng, which has 298 MW of installed capacity, started construction in 2023. These represent major strides in achieving the goal of net zero by 2050.
