Hafslund

Hafslund is located at Sarpsfossen and it is one of Norway’s oldest hydro plants: construction started in 1896 and electricity production commenced in 1899. Sarpsfossen is the last waterfall on the Glomma river, the longest in Norway. It has the strongest water flow in Europe and is home to three powerplants: Hafslund (31 MW), Sarp (80 MW) and Borregaard (51 MW). The Hafslund power plant is comprised of four Francis Turbines, which make for an annual production of 160 GWh.
