Fossumfoss Kykkelsrud (FKF)

FKF generates its electricity from the Glomma river, the longest in Norway. With an installed capacity of 230 MW and an annual output of 1 265 GWh, it is one of Norway’s largest run-of-river hydro plants. It also meets the strict criteria set by the Swedish eco-label Bra Miljøval.

FKF utilises a fall of 26.5 meters in Glomma, Norway’s longest river. With an installed capacity of 230 MW and an annual output of 1 265 GWh, it is one of Norway’s largest run-of-river hydro plants. The construction of Kykkelsrud Power plant started in 1900 and the first phase, which included two generators, was ready in 1903. By 1948, it had 12 generators with a total capacity of 60 MW. Today, FKF meets the strict criteria set by the Swedish eco-label Bra Miljøval.
