Embretsfoss

The Embretsfoss hydropower plant is located in the municipality of Modum in Buskerud, Norway. Embretsfoss III and IV have replaced the former Embretsfoss I and II that were commissioned back in 1916 and 1921. The power plant plant has an annual power production of 335 GWh.

The Embretsfoss hydropower plant is located on the Drammen river, in the municipality of Modum in Buskerud, Norway.
The plant consists of four power stations. Embretsfoss I was commissioned in 1916, and Embretsfoss II in 1921. Embretsfoss I was then shut down in 1954,and that same year, Embretsfoss III started production. The entire plant was renovated in 2014 when Embretsfoss IV was commissioned, and the surrounding environment was cleaned up. Industrial pollution was disposed of and local hiking trails and other recreational facilities were established.
The power plant plant now has an annual power production of 335 GWh.
