Aunfoss is a run-of-river plant in the Namsen river, Grong municipality, Nord-Trøndelag County, Norway. Namsen is considered as one of the best rivers for salmon fishing in Norway (Photo). Downstream you will find Nedre Fiskumfoss power plant. Prior to the construction of this plant, the salmon could not get past the waterfall so a fish-ladder was built and the salmon are now able to swim further up to the outlet of Aunfoss. Effective water drop is 27 meters. Aunfoss was commissioned in 1959 and has an annual output of 214 GWh.
