The Emissions & Generation Resource Integrated Database (eGRID), published by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, is a globally-recognized source of emissions data for the electric power generated in the United States, linking air emissions with electricity generation. According to the emissions data, the MRO eGRID is considered to be the “dirtiest” eGRID in the country. It also happens to be the home of the Prairie Breeze I Wind Energy Center.
Prairie Breeze I boasts a 206-MW capacity complete with 118 wind turbines stretching across a sprawling 26,000 acres in Antelope, Boone and Madison counties in Nebraska — a state with tremendous wind resources.
