The Cochamó plant is the first hydroelectric plant in the Cochamó region in Chile, located in a beautiful area close to the known Osorno volcano – a symbol of the local landscape. The hydropower plant uses water of a small local river linked with the Rìo Puelo River. Cental Cochamó is supplying energy to the Cochamó area in a more sustainable way, substituting a large part of the energy traditionally produced by diesel generators. The plant also conducts water through pipes buried under old forest roads, giving a second life to an area abandoned by deforestation.
