Sustainability goals by the UN

The United Nations adopted in September 2015 a set of 17 goal to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all.

Implementation of the Paris agreement is essential for the achievement of these sustainable development goals, which provides a roadmap for climate action. The 17 goals has specific targets and milestones to be achieved during the next 15 years. All governments, private sector, civil society and people in general are encourage to do their part in achieving the goals. The goals are universal and applies to all countries, but are not legally binding. However, countries are expected to take ownership in the sustainability and establish a national framework for achieving the 169 targets of the new sustainability agenda represented by the 17 goals. Responsible consumption and production of energy is an important step towards achieving these goals.
